Why are there duplicate artist profiles?
Common causes of duplicate pages and how to reduce them.
Names are not unique identifiers
Different artists can share the same name, and a store may create a new page if it cannot confidently match a delivery.
Use profile IDs and links
Whenever possible, provide the existing artist URL or identifier during release setup.
Do not rename casually
Changing artist names between releases can create additional profile and catalog issues.
